I finished my massage therapy class last April 2, 2008. For to me, it is a great experienced on how to do a proper massage. When I was a child, my parents especially my father likes to be massaged which I believed that massage is a HEALING ART. In the history of massage during 5000 BC, it was already described a healing art in the Grecial, Egyptian, Roman, Indian, Filipino and Chinese cultures due to man's natural instinct to rub, sooth, press or pat an injures part or uncomfortable area. In the field of our studies, we tackled Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology & Parasitology, Ethics & Jurisprudence, Sanitation & Hygiene, and of course, the practical massage that includes Swedish Massage, Aroma Therapy & Reflexology, etc. The knowledge that I learned during my training is forever that my families and friends can be benefited. As of now, my husband, my kids, my mother, and close friends are enjoying my massage for free using the original Young Living Essential Oils. In June, I am planning to take a licensure examination in Department of Health so that in the future I can have my own massage center, oh di ba, bongga?

Ultra Sound Resullt

After seeing 3 different doctors regarding my current pregnancy, today, I felt relieved with the result of the ultrasound - no hernia! It is varicose veins in the vulva. Meaning, no operation and I can deliver a natural birth!(before I was diagnosed that I have an hernia, and with this I have to undergo for a c-section, and after the recovery, an hernia operation will follow) God is so awesome! He always works wonderful things for those who love him!!!

I'm still using the essential oils mixed for varicose veins, support belt and stockings, Peace and Calming oil that I rub to my sole when I'm anxious and Lemon oil to refresh my senses.

Friends, kumusta? I went for an ultra sound today. I'll find the result on Thursday.

It's just so amazing how God is working in our lives. A week ago, my husband and I were thinking of all the things that we need for the baby. Then, last Sunday a friend (Alma) gave us a big plastic bag with infant clothing and some maternity dresses. Yesterday, I got a call from (Ate Tess) the cousin of my previous co-worker that she has a Dora bed, 2 bikes for our daughter Apple and a car seat for the upcoming baby. Lastly, today, another good friend of mine (Cheryl) volunteered to drive me back and forth and take care of Apple while I'm having the ultra sound. Apple had a great time with her daughter playing with the dog of her friend! After my ultra sound we went to Tim Hortons...and we had another great time.

While I am writing this, Apple is watching our wedding video that she saw in the box of dvds, cdsa, and vcds. The moment she saw her dad with a strange lady (it's me) she started calling "Daddy, daddy!" When her dad asked her, "where is daddy?" She pointed out her dad on the screen. When he asked,"Where is mommy?" she didn't do or say anything...after a minute, she began to scream a lot, crying out "Daddy, daddy". Of course, at first we don't understand why she was screaming...after some discussion, we realized she didn't recognize the lady dancing with her dad. She was jealous! (She only thinks of me as pregnant and it couldn't be her mommy in the video, he! he! he!.) We explained it to her, but, she kept on screaming. Her Dad changed the video to BARBIE. Finally she calmed down. It was very funny!

Oily Relief for Expectant Mothers with Varicose Veins!

Mabuhay! After all the up side down, I am back. Sa mga Pinoy na nakakarelate sa buhay ng bagong immigrant, welcome! Hope to hear your voices...as we endure the so called LIFE...
I am expecting our second baby on Sept. 27th. Being pregnant is a blessing:to bear an angel. I have no idea if it is he or she. If he's a boy, we will call him Nathaniel = means given by God/messenger of God. If she's a girl, we will call her Angelika = meaning messenger of God! After many months of prayer, we came up to this beautiful baby name. he! he! he! At this moment, halo- halong nararamdan ko tulad ng (excited, fear, anxious). Pero tiwala ako sa Diyos. He's an omnipotent and omniscient God.
Last month (7th month of pregnancy) varicose veins, and painful swelling(below my abdomen)appeared. They are painful especially during late afternoon. PARA BANG LAHAT NG LAKAS KO MULA ULO HINIHILA PABABA KUNG KAYA NAMAN ANG BIGAT-BIGAT NG KATAWAN KO. After several follow-up check ups from my doctor, we found out na iyong tumubong bukol sa baba ng abdomen ko ay HERNIA pala. Sa ngayon, nakasuot ako ng HERNIA belt at stockings for my varicose veins and mixed essential oils (30 drops Geranium, 5 drops Cypress and 4 Tablespoons V-6 Enhanced Vegetable Oil Complex) being applied after a bath. Thanks to my mother-in-law for this suggestion. It helps relieve the pain!

Dash that Diaper Rash!

I have been so busy with my new job outside the home and then with my baby and family inside the home that I have not posted for a couple of weeks! But here I am again!

Back home I used cloth diapers for my baby and she never had a diaper rash. When I came here I bought some disposable diapers and she got a rash. Here is a nice wash for the baby's tender little bottom:

Add 1 drop of Lavender Oil or 1 drop of Chamomile Oil to 1 Tablespoon of Whole Milk (or Almond Milk). Stir up and add to the baby's warm bath water.

After the bath, dry baby well with a soft towel... instead of rub-drying, just blot the bum area until dry because rubbing will hurt this sensitive area if there is a diaper rash.

Then I put on a little Tender Tush, but if I don't have that I use 1 drop of Lavender Oil in 2 tablespoons of Virgin Coconut Oil, well blended, that I keep in an empty babyfood jar with the lid on.

Essential Flea Repellent

We are staying with my in-laws. They have a cute little dog. At first I was afraid that our little girl would get bitten or get some illness. That has not happened.

Here is the excellent Flea Repellent that you can make to keep your dog's coat and kennel clear of fleas (please don't use on cats).:

10 drops of Eucalyptus

10 drops of Peppermint

10 drops of Lavender

10 drops of Lemon

Place these oils in a litre of distilled water and spritz the animal gently, working the spray into the coat.

I want to share some super information that was published in Margarete de Gaston's ScentPro Newsletter:

How to Make 100% Chemical Free Baby Wipes:

Cut a roll of soft paper towels in half to make two small rolls (would be good if they are the unbleached, recycled variety you can buy at SuperStore in Canada).

Take the core out of one small roll and put it into an airtight container.

Heat 1 1/2 Cups of distilled water to body temperature and mix in the following:
2 tsp. KidScents Lotion, 2 tsp. KidScents Bath Gel and V6 Mixing Oil.

Mix together with a wire whisk and pour over the paper towels in the container.

Let it set until it has absorbed all the liquid

When ready to use, pull the wipes from the center of the roll. Awesome!

And my little baby is also not used to this weather.

So, I will give her NingXia Red to make sure that she doesn't get sick!

NingXia Red is like giving her a really nutritious fruit salad. It is a whole food drink. It doesn't have fillers and lots of sugars in it (just Agave Blue as a sweetener). I will give her just a spoonful in about 2 ounces of water. Like a diluted juice. She loves it!

Christmas Shopping Can Be A Headache!

Last night I had one of those really bad sinus headaches. I was cranky. My muscles in my upper back ached and so did different places on my face and neck.

Then I remembered that there are lots of essential oils that help with headaches. Physician, heal thyself??

First I rubbed in some Panaway on my temples and the back of my neck and upper back, and it helped quite a bit, but there was still a bit of ache in my back. Then I rubbed on some Relieve It! (that has black pepper essential oil in it)and within a few minutes all the ache-y feeling was gone. I was really, really tired, and went to bed. I had a great sleep. Who needs to be sick over these last Christmas shopping days??

Do you have somebody on your Christmas gift list who gets headaches? How about a little self-care basket that they can use all year long in great health? Three suggestions for headaches are the following therapeutic-grade**, pure essential oils/blends:

It is easy to be depressed at Christmas time... maybe like me, you are far away from home and things that are familiar and joyful at Christmas. Maybe you just had a baby and your hormones are messed up. Maybe you lost someone you love recently. Maybe you split up with your boyfriend or your husband. Maybe you have the flu. Maybe you lost your job or you just barely have enough to make ends meet.

Whatever the reason for your blueness, you can find some relief with essential oils. There are some really nice Christmas scents like the Evergreen Essence blend (even guys like it-- very masculine are fir trees lol). There is, of course, Christmas Spirit (with Frankincense and Myrrh). I think that the citrus essential oils are really uplifting-- and they are reasonably priced if you want to use them to diffuse (they diffuse "clean" and will not clog up your diffuser). Citrus oils that Young Living carries include:

When teachers use lemon oil to wipe off classroom surfaces there are fewer absences. In Britain they use lemon oil in hospital settings to uplift the patients' spirits and to kill germs.

You must be careful not to go out in the sun with citrus essential oil on your skin (if it is exposed) because it might affect the pigment. I mostly just inhale it. Tangerine is a favorite at Christmas time... and think of all the fun things you can do at Christmas time with other uplifting (and edible) essential oils like Young Living's Cinnamon, Clove, Peppermint, and Nutmeg, for example.

But you can't lose with the pure, therapeutic-grade citrus essential oils if you just want to have something clean and fresh and lovely to smell that will also raise your spirits!

Banned Elsewhere, Compounds Still Used in U.S.

Although chemical bans overseas have prompted some manufacturers to
reformulate all their products worldwide, many toys and cosmetics are
exceptions.

Europe banned or restricted six phthalate compounds in toys. In beauty
products, Europe has eliminated 900 compounds, including two phthalates,
suspected of causing reproductive disorders, cancer or genetic mutations.
The U.S. toy industry said seven years ago, when the European Union first
banned some phthalates, that it would voluntarily remove them from products
for babies and toddlers. But last year, 15 of 18 vinyl bath toys, teethers
that babies chew on and other toys purchased at U.S. stores contained the
chemicals, according to tests by the activist organization U.S. Public
Interest Research Group. One plastic book labeled "phthalate free" contained
phthalates.

Low levels of phthalates, used mostly to soften plastic, are in the bodies
of nearly all Americans tested. Animal studies and some human research show
that they block testosterone and cause reproductive abnormalities in male
newborns.

Federal officials have concluded that the low doses in toys and cosmetics
pose little risk. The Toy Industry Association does not track the chemicals,
saying "the choice to use phthalates in toys sold in the United States is up
to the individual manufacturer."

Mattel, which owns Fisher-Price, says all its products will comply with the
EU rules by the end of this year.

In cosmetics, some companies, including OPI Products, the largest maker of
manicurists' products, have kept nail polishes with the phthalate DBP on
U.S. shelves for two years after the EU's 2004 ban. OPI this fall changed
course and said it soon will be DBP-free to save the cost of making two
formulas.

Orly International, which sells nail lacquer in 66 countries, decided to be
"better safe than sorry" and immediately removed DBP from all formulations,
said marketing director Mia Jenner.

"If they remove it there, why shouldn't we remove it here?" she said. "It's
a no-brainer."

Essential Oils for children sleeping better

Mabuhay! Here is a short video that shows a day care where they use color therapy and aromatherapy to keep little children happy. You can use thse Essential Oils to help children sleep : Citrus, Lavender, and Chamomile Roman. You could make your own blend, always using less rather than too much (so as not to get them over-acting). Ten drops of the essential oils-- single or blended-- in 2 tablespoons of Virgin Coconut Oil on the bottom of the feet will help your child at his/her bedtime. Peace & Calming is also that-- peaceful and calming.

Be sure to only use Young Living Essential Oils because they are pure and won't cause burning or other bad effects on your child. Some essential oils can cause very serious problems because they use solvents to distill them cheaply and quickly. Only use the best for your child!

"Gentle Baby" for my Baby's Skin

Mabuhay! This is my first post and I just want to say Welcome! I hope you come back here to visit and that you will find information here that will help you in your life!

I am a young mom, married, and will be living on a different island from the one I grew up on (in the Philippines). I like what I see of Vancouver Island on National Geographic-- I hope I like it as much when I live there (in two weeks).

When my baby was just newborn she had some skin problems. I used "Gentle Baby" essential oil blend on her, and her skin was perfect again! Just add a drop of Gentle Baby to some Virgin Coconut Oil and rub into the baby's skin (it works great for adults too!)
